My name is Zainab Daodu. I am a technical writer and a former software developer passionate about open-source contributions, enhancing technical documentation for improved developer experience, and maintaining enterprise software applications.
In my role as a Senior Technical Writer, I’ve worked for notable organizations, including CISCO (ThousandEyes). My responsibilities consisted of gathering information from various sources, including product feature testing, and articulating complex concepts in clear language.
I am also the Founder of WriteTech Hub, a brand that specializes in writing technical documents and providing helpful guides on how to contribute to open-source projects.
I am a strong advocate for gender diversity and inclusion in the open-source space, for this reason, I frequently speak on topics around technology, women’s empowerment, and open-source contributions. I have been responsible for global programs that have educated over 1000+ participants collectively and have reached and impacted over 300 African women in Technology in 2020 through planned programs and initiatives at She Code Africa of which I was part of.
I have several articles on Medium and Hashnode, covering topics on technical writing, software development, and open source, and some of these have been featured on both Medium and Hashnode.
I was a contractor for Google through Bard where I managed the Google developer documentation and supplemented developer documentation with relevant sample codes to improve the developer experience.
I have worked on several open-source documentation projects, such as the completion of the documentation for Jenkins on the Kubernetes project as part of Google Season of Docs 2020. Additionally, I worked on improving the documentation for MediaWiki Action APIs.
Overtime, I have been featured as one of the Top 10 contributors shaping the future of Continuous Delivery and DevOps by the Continuous Delivery Foundation and have also been featured by the Stack Journal on “5 Technical Writing Women You Should Know”.
